A Classic Curated Vignette ~ A place to Shop, Learn & Discover!

Chalkboard Bunny ~ Classic Curated Vignette

If you missed the first Classic Curated Vignette ~ let me introduce you to the concept.

Ya know those magazine images ~ the pages to droooool over ~ the very page you spot a nice plate, a colorful sofa or a fun idea….and then you quickly go to the ‘shopping guide’ in the back of the magazine to find out where to find the goods?……well this is kinda like that.
A Vignette will be created and shared along with all ‘the goods’ information ~ where to purchase, order, find…with links, recipes and locations! Well, you get the picture…..no pun intended, lol!
The images will have retail, vintage and handmade….maybe even a recipe or two!
This is all about a love for selecting, organizing, merchandising, presenting, photographing, and sharing home and art!
All with cottage style, a little homespun charm with a touch of whimsy.

So let’s discover!

easter

This Chalkboard Bunny was especially fun to create…..using a 12″ x 8″ ‘wood bunny cut out’ available from my good friend Sheila of Tole Painting Designs.  You can find the product (here) ~ to create your very own!

and enjoy a little something from my heart to yours this Easter Season, a ‘free’ how-to, see below!

Simply paint the bunny with DecoArt Chalkboard Black and distress with Graphite and Neutral Grey paint.  You can find a distress-how-to video (here)…..simple enough.  Once distressed create the design using a White PrismaColor Pencil, click here for a template (here)After penciling the face and wording ~ add ‘fur’ to all edges of bunny, use the images for details.

Embellish the bunny with ‘spool’ wheels.  Purchase a wood spool from Michaels and cut it in half, then paint the same as the bunny.  Wrap baker’s twine around the painted spools and adhere to bottom of the bunny with hot glue!  Now you have homespun wheels!

To give the wreath vintage homespun charm and a touch of whimsy, tie strips of hand-dyed wool to a wire ~ until you have enough to cover the bottom of the wreath.  Keep wire long enough on ends to secure to the bottom of the wreath.

Then using felt scraps and round felted balls (both purchased from Michaels) cut different size circles from scraps then layer and glue together to create flowers as shown.  Attach the flowers with velcro strips to the dyed wool ‘grass’.  With the remaining scraps of felt create a collar for the bunny and add a flower.

Assembly was easy using the wire and velcro.   Mr Bunny is also just tucked into the branches to secure.
