Let’s Create A Charming Welcome

A new Series of paintings has been created for you….to welcome your friends, family and neighbors into your home for everday gatherings, seasons, holidays and celebrations…..they will feel Welcome upon entering the front door.

Each painting in the Series ~ will be created on a bevel cut scalloped framed mdf wood piece measuring 10 1/2″ by 6 1/2″ ~ all to fit onto a creative wreath to be made for your front door. What better way to welcome your guests!

The Series will run……well, until I run out of imagination! There is no timing on this series or commitment. Each pattern and blog post will happen as time allows and each will be available to you without expiring!

Each release will include a blog post with how-to photos, some videos and maybe even a story or two on how to display and create the wreath….to capture your beautiful painting…..‘A Charming Welcome’ for sure.

Let’s get started with our first in the Series ‘Matilda is Homebound’! She has had a good day of broom shopping and is headed home!

Making the ‘Homebound’ wreath is pretty simple ~ first gather a few supplies ~ and a favorite grapevine wreath with greenery assembled.

To create the glitter letters ~ simply purchase wood chip/or cardboard letters ~ found on Etsy or thru Michaels crafts. Using different font styles will keep it interesting, including lower and upper case. Apply DecoArt Decoupage in Matte to each letter and sprinkle with black glitter. I used Miss Mustard Seed Flapper Black Glitter. Let dry. To add to the wreath ~ paint a dowel stick black and hot glue letters to dowel stick. Then grab a few vintage cloths pins to attach to greenery on wreath……’cause vintage is my thing, ya know.

And finally the broomsticks! Created with the following supplies. a 3/4″ dowel stick cut to size, a 2″ styrofoam ball, e6000 glue, ‘cutter’ for styrofoam, a slicer for Quickwood, Quickwood, DecoArt Extender, DecoArt acrylic paint in Antique White, Lamp Black and Georgia Clay, hot glue, raffia, baker’s twine and scissors.

Once everything is assembled ~ your going to love it. What a ‘Charming Welcome‘ for your guests!
