Create Art & Curate Your Home

My brain’s creative side is endlessly creating new ideas, with little rest. Sort-of like a wind up clock, the big hand and little hand moving slowly and the second hand (creative side) speeding along…only resting when a wind-up is needed…it is the way I picture it anyway.….that and a pinball machine constantly batting ideas back and forth with a loud buzzer and flashing lights going off when I come across a winner ….aka good idea.

Let me share with you a little of what has been on my mind as a Creative Business ~ things to come.

Since the whole ‘Covid thing’ I have had some down time to work on creative projects that have been lingering on the to-do list….(is it really down time when you can fill every minute?). Although I do miss teaching in my Home Studio and at the Art Center….this extra time has given me the push to really get into my sketchbooks and create some really fun designs, work on new ideas and home projects too.

It also gave me a few moments to breath, think and plan…instead of chasing my tail ~ with a little nudge and help from a Creative Business Mentoring Group I joined thru Miss Mustard Seed Mentoring and The Creative Exponent. You can find more information here.

If your business is Creativity, and you have exhausted your friends and family with your endless ideas and plans….joining a Mentoring Group is a good thing.

Although the breathing, thinking and planning only brought me to more ideas ~ it is all good.…and when laid out in a plan, it works. Always excited to do everything at once, but slow and steady wins the race.

Below is a little glimpse of what is in the works for Classic Amy Joanne, the brand and the biz….my hopes are, in my sharing creativity thru patterns, how-tos and products you will also find Joy in Creating and making a house a Home.

The next Painting Club ‘Halloween Baubles’ is ready to roll out for pre-orders in August for September delivery…..just in time to create and decorate for Halloween! Baubles of Fun.

There will also be 4 other patterns ready to purchase and create in Colored Pencil & Acrylic, Acrylic and Sculpting too!

Including Delicious Spells, The Squash Gang, Matilda, and something a little nutty, (gosh, is all my creativity based around food!)

I’ve also been working on fun new surfaces from Sheila Landry, our local wood Craftsman and my Hubby too….they will be exclusively sold here!

~*~

Also in the works ~ newly designed Classic Cling Rubber Stamps with some of your favorite characters!

There will be a chance to grab a free set of stamps in exchange for ideas and promoting thru your friends and other creatives! This will be limited….so if you love rubber stamps and have some connections ~ keep watching on how-to connect for your set! Yes, I am putting you to work!

Here are a few Characters you may see….imagine the possibilities!

~*~

In October we will have a few more patterns to release~ some with unique surfaces and exclusive kits to purchase too! One working with twine and another with a hanger….I will just keep you guessing on these projects!

~*~

And on the Blog ~ a few home and studio projects are coming too ~ including another corner of the kitchen, a corner of the Home Studio Office and rescuing & repurposing a Piano Bench and Fire Co Chairs.

I also got my hands on a small drafting table, a few ladders and theatre seating to redo…..please don’t tell my hubby, he’s worried about me using his space for storage, lol!

2021

2021 will hold some promising fun too….with a new pottery line to purchase (possibly some sneak peeks this Christmas Season), along with a fun denim bag idea, matching bread board, and a little something painted called ‘gather rounds’…..this has been a labor of love ~ it has alot of bits and pieces, you’re gonna love it!

A new Acrylic Series release too….hope you like decorating cupcakes!

Along with some ‘secret agent’ projects thru DecoArt Paints and a Zoom class thru Artful Connection in July 2021.

~*~

and last but not least… another Classic branded item….‘Classic Candle Co’, or ‘Classic Cottage Candles’ (not sure of the name yet) ~ make scents, lol! …with cottage denim scented pillars, glass jar ‘Bauble Scents’ and Homespun Ironstone scents too!

With Blog Posts filled with ‘Gift Set’ ideas! I absolutely loved putting together Gift Sets at my time working for Bath & Body Works.

And did I mention the possibility of designed fabric, a collaboration with a Needle Punch Designer, …..and soldered jewelry too? …yep.

All this to say…..my hopes are that you continue to enjoy creating with the patterns and classes offered, along with learning, sneak peeks and how-to’s thru the blog about sharing all things Art & Home ~ including the newly created branded items too.
