Create Art & Curate Your Home

All thru grade-school my lunch box consisted of a peanut butter sandwich with a little sugar sprinkled on-top. It is what I wanted then and still enjoy to this day… with the sugar sprinkled on-top, of course. Maybe it’s nostalgia, or maybe it’s just simple goodness.

And on some grade-school-days my Mom added a snack-pack chocolate pudding in the metal tabbed cup….those were good days, miss those metal cups.

This could have been the beginning of a love for Chocolate and Peanut Butter.

So now being the ‘Foodie’ that I am ~ why not make my own Chocolate~Peanut Butter, minus the preservatives, please.

It is as simple as two ingredients.

Chocolate Peanut Butter

Ingredients

  • 2 Cup Salted or Un-Salted Peanuts
  • 1/2 Cup Chocolate Chips (Milk, Dark or Semi)

Directions

  1. Add Peanuts to Food Processor and process until creamy. This step takes about 15 minutes, the peanuts turn into crumbs, then a thick paste, and finally creamy peanut butter.
  2. Add Chocolate Chips and continue to process until creamy again.
  3. Pour/Place into 1/2 glass pint jars or any container to use, save and share!
  4. Peanut Butter will keep on counter for a week or so. Refrigerate for 6 months.

There are many variations to making Peanut Butter, some adding salt separately, some adding honey, and some other variations including almonds, powdered sugar, coconut, and more. You can find a few recipes on my personal Foodie Pinterest Board (here).

And look at these cute baby food Ball Jars to use, save and share….. found at Walmart.

I’ve had my daily dose ~ spread onto toast, banana-apple bread, a slice of apple or just simply spooned from the jar.

Why not create a gift set for a nutty friend….using a sweet jar of chocolate-peanut butter, a denim handkerchief, an apple or slices of banana bread and a hand-painted wrap around ornament ~ all wrapped up in a stoneware bowl.

…the denim handkerchief and stoneware bowls shown here were found at Dollar General.

The ‘Driving Me Nuts‘ (ornaments) Acrylic Pattern can be found (here), on sale as a download for a limited time!

Hard Copy available (here), as well.

You can also read more about this fun Pattern (here).

Do you see the ‘Ornaments’ with two holes? I call them ‘Wrap Arounds’….they are meant to weave a ribbon thru and wrap around any gift.

The scalloped Wrap Arounds or Ornaments are available thru Sheila Landry (here).

We all have that one Nutty Friend we appreciate….why not gift her with a nutty handmade and homemade gift from your heart and hands.

It’s that time of year to make peanut butter toast and hot-cocoa (don’t forget to dip), wear your comfy socks and over-sized sweatshirt, and linger a little longer, lost in a good book or reading your favorite blog postings on your i-pad (insert wink).

The leaves will be changing soon and the pumpkins will adorn our porches.

Welcome September.

Enjoy

I once visited Eataly in New York. A portion of the store was devoted to Nutella products. A lady employee was teaching a new hire how to make crepes and how to fill them with Nutella. My cousin and I were watching the process and the lady asked if we wanted to try the crepe as they were just going to throw it away! Well, it was heavenly! I am thinking that your 🍫 chocolate/peanut 🥜 butter mix might be yummy in a crepe, too!

    1. Sounds yummy and perfect to me! Your experience sounds like a fun time too!
