Directions

Pumpkin Donut with Sprinkles

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice ( I used cinnamon instead)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup pumpkin puree
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 3 tbsp butter ~ melted and cooled

Icing Glaze

  • 2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice (I omitted)
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 tbsp water (or enough for desired consistancy)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350F
  • spray a donut pan or two or three with non stick baking spray
  • whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and salt
  • in a separate bowl whisk together pumpkin puree and cooled melted butter. Then add eggs, milk and vanilla and stir well.
  • add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and fold together until mixed.
  • spoon batter into the donut pan, filling each 2/3 full, or use piping bag for ease.
  • bake for 10 to 12 minutes. cool in pan then completely cool on a cooling rack before adding icing glaze.

Icing Glaze

  • in a small bowl whisk together powdered sugar, butter, vanilla and water. Stir to combine. Add additional water until you reach the desired consistancy.
  • dunk each donut into the icing glaze and return to cooling rack. Add SPRINKLES! Allow the glaze to harden before serving!

BAKING TIP for DONUT POLE

  • Use small donut ~ pans and bake approximately 9 minutes. Less time for smaller donuts.
for every donut pan purchased, purchase two. Then while baking add one donut pan as a lid to the other….the donuts will rise perfectly! (see images)

The donut pans were purchased thru Dollar General (here).

And ‘donut‘ forget the sprinkles…..like I did when I photographed ~ so silly, the whole idea was about the Sprinkles, from the painted design to the candles! Gee-Wiz Amy.
