This past weekend the air had a Fall Vibe to it with the unseasonal change in temps. ~ I am not a fan of Summer ~ so the fall vibes were welcome here.
and I made a delicious marble pound loaf cake.

As noted in the ‘Daily Dose‘ (here) ~ I’ve been taking the long-road around, pretending my phone is anchored to a wall, and getting knee deep within any project I am taking on, and enjoying every moment of it ….and this marble pound loaf cake was no different, enjoying every moment of making, baking and especially the first warm bite.
I’m typically not a ‘marble cake’ fan but this recipe interested me when it called for melted chocolate in place of cocoa powder. ~ And I only learned that because I took the time to read the ‘story’ in-front of the recipe.
I purchased this ‘Sure Thing Desserts‘ recipe book (below) while on vacation with my Sister and Mom in early summer. Although I have enough recipe books to last my lifetime ~ I like to pick-up a new book or two while on vacation and treat it like a souvenir. I should have written each vacation date in the front of all my souvenir books, but I didn’t ~ maybe I’ll start with this one.
This Recipe Book is by Matt Lewis ~ I am only one recipe in and I fully recommend the purchase (here).
Of course I used my favorite Wilbur Chocolate (here), along with a Ground Vietnamese Cinnamon my friend Jane recommended by (King Arthur found here) ~ it makes all the difference in each recipe. I savor this cinnamon along with my friendship with Jane.
This marble pound loaf cake was pretty easy to assemble ~ taking the time to follow the directions properly. Even adding the batter to the loaf pan using an ice-cream scooper.
I then served the cake using my Husband’s Mother’s Cake Pedestal.
