Not Your Average Cheeseburger

Ingredients
  

  • 1 and 1/2 lb ground beef, (we used 85/15)
  • 1 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • red pepper flake to taste
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • salsa (we used pico de gallo)
  • 3 cups Montery Jack & Cheddar Shredded Cheese (1 1/2 C each)
  • flour tortillas (one or two for each burger)
  • 1 tb vegetable oil
  • iceburg lettuce (shred if desired)
  • salt & pepper

Method
 

  1. I always bake our burgers, but you can make them on the stove-top too. Mix Ground Beef with all seasonings and garlic. Form into 2 patties. (or 4 if you would like smaller portions). Bake at 350 for 1/2 hour. Test for doneness.
  2. Then prepare a pan with a tablespoon of vegetable oil, medium heat. Add flour tortillas. Top with cooked Burger, add cheese, lettuce and salsa. (Top with another flour tortilla if desired).
  3. Heat until cheese has melted, Serve and Enjoy!
