Spaghetti

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound spaghetti
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound ground pork sausage
  • 1 diced onion
  • crushed garlic, to taste
  • 1 6oz can tomato paste
  • 2 qt tomato juice (8 cups)
  • 1/4 cup white wine (I used chicken broth)
  • 2 tspn brown sugar (and a pinch more, in my book)
  • 1 tb each dried basil and parsley
  • salt & pepper, to taste
  • red pepper flake, to taste
  • 2 tb cornstarch, dissolved into 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1 cup 1/2 & 1/2 or (I used 3/4 cup of heavy cream, mixed with 1/4 cup of milk)
  • shaved parmesean

Instructions
 

  • Cook spaghetti in salted water as per package instructions, drain.
  • In a stock pot, brown beef, sausage and onion. Then add in garlic, tomato paste, tomato juice, wine, brown sugar, basil, parsley, salt, pepper and red papper flake, cook and simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Add in cornstarch, and mix until thickened. Stir in 1/2 & 1/2, drained spaghetti and simmer for another 10 minutes.
  • Serve with fresh shaved parmesean.
