I’m not really a cut flower vase kinda girl. So when my hubby planted a Meadow for me, well, he simply has my heart. We happen to live on Meadow Ave ~ so now we have a Meadow filled with all different varieties of Zinnias…on Meadow Ave and I love it!
My love for Zinnia’s started a few years back when we were gifted Zinnia Seeds from a good friend (read about here). We planted, harvested and replanted year after year (after year) and then this year we cleared enough space to plant a Meadow of Zinnia’s. Although we did have enough harvested seeds I wanted to experiment with other varieties (as seen thru Floret, here) and I ordered seeds thru Eden Brothers (here).
Enjoy a walk thru the Meadow below, I simply cannot take enough photos.

The Meadow wouldn’t be complete without a few creative touches ~ including ‘The Pottery Bees!’
I’ve been taking pottery lessons from my friend Jo of Jo Pilston Pottery (here) for a few years now ~ I just love that a lump of clay can be made into anything you can dream of ~ and Bees for the Meadow it was!
The Bee’s were formed, fired, painted, fired again, then added to the garden onto metal spikes.

In the image above….the actual bee seems to be enjoying his clay bee friends.
can you spot the Bees in the next couple of photos?

…and now that you spotted all the bees. There are 7 in total ~ maybe next year I will add a few more. I simply just tucked them in here and there ~ so fun!

Enjoy a pretty scroll-thru below, a walk thru Our Meadow.

PS ~ if you are interested in any of the varieties I planted just leave a comment and I will send along the info ~ you really don’t need a large yard ~ our ‘Meadow’ was created with about 20 feet x 8 feet of good soil.
