#CAJrecipecardproject

Curious what it is? Check out our first Recipe Card Project by clicking (here) and the second project (here). In a nut shell ~ the projects are created in Paint & Pencil ~ once a month and released to you in a blog post ~ where you can purchase a PDF copy to create and join in on the fun! Really any surface will do ~ but we especially like Vintage Recipe Cards….hence the name. After you have created a fun piece simply share with us on Social Media and mark your post with a hashtag #CAJrecipecardproject.

A #’tag is a gathering place for all who want to join ~ simply search for the # name and all our projects will appear in one location on Social Media.

Not to get ahead of ourselves (but Creatives do that…..) ~ our next Holiday to prepare for is Thanksgiving. We need to get those Thanksgiving invites and place cards ready!

While searching for the perfect surfaces for this Recipe Card Project ‘Turkey Carving’ ~ of course there was a Thanksgiving turkey and all the trimmings in the vintage Better Homes & Gardens cook book to work with, but found it hard to find a written recipe card in my stash for the turkey….. a chicken recipe will make-do….so I did! Along with a cute little invite you will find on the video…….and more.

What’s fun about this ‘Velveeta Chicken’ vintage card is….there was no waste. ‘Velveeta‘ was spelled wrong so it was just crossed off …..no throwing it away and wasting another index card. Little things ~ even mishaps, make it that much more special in a vintage find.

While sitting at an Auction to purchase goods for the shop ‘Cottage Classics’(well, who am I kidding, for me too) ~ I became very interested in a set of two metal turkeys, having no idea the purpose for each, but it was instant attraction….SOLD, one for me and one for you ~ available for you, at 895 Studio!

….and the metal turkey made the perfect prop for this posting!

The video lesson for ‘Turkey Carving‘ ~ focuses on placement of shading and hi-lights, followed by burnishing. In the previous posts we mostly covered technique and layering. Click below to learn….with a little quirky-ness, always. Drives my Sister nuts ~ that’s why I do it, lol!

Did you catch my mistake in the end? I said #CAG…it should be #CAJrecipecardproject! Just a note…..well, until I learn to slice, insert and edit a video!

Would you like to purchase the pattern? Click below ~ once purchased an email with a PDF will be sent to you! This is a one page instruction guide to creating ‘Turkey Carving’ with supply list, instructions and line drawing!
