Cocoa-To-Go!

During my time with Bath & Body Works I so very much enjoyed making the pretty gift sets ~ and even today, I love finding vintage, creating paintings, and shopping for the perfect products to put together, using fun ideas, matching colors, and using pretty wrappings to compliment each other and of course making it special for the recipient.

‘Cocoa-to-Go’ (acrylic pattern) makes the prettiest gift set for a friend ~ making it extra special with a hand painted tin and mug trivet, homemade marshmallows and cocoa too! Wrapping it up using a vintage buffalo china restaurant ware mug!

sooooooo smitten with ironstone, restaurant ware and buffalo china ~ especially with the pretty scalloped edges.

The exciting part of creating this acrylic design is….(insert drumroll)….it is for ToleTown.Com! It is wonderful to be a part of this On-line Community of Painters ~ alongside the most talented Designers in our field!

Another fun place for us to meet up and share Art!

How do you find ToleTown and ‘Cocoa to Go’? Simply (click here), then click ‘become a member’ and join in on the fun! You will find different patterns monthly, along with videos and how-tos! There is Community and paper crafts too! Be sure to click ‘For New Members’ to see all the fun things to do! Lorrie, you are amazing!

The Tiny Tins are 3″ tall and found thru Amazon (click here) ~ they hold a few scoops of hot cocoa ~ perfect for a sweet gift!

The Mug Trivet ~ is really an ornament/wrap around from Sheila Landry of Tole Painting Designs ~ a perfect surface to paint this sweet design. You can find the ornament (click here). Notice the scallops on the ornament ~ hmmmm, becoming a signature thing.

And those yummy marshmallows, they are from a very talented painting friend, Lora! They are soft as a cloud and so very sweet ~ no doubt I will never purchase a store-bought marshmallow again! Thank you so much Lora!

Here is a favorite ‘Cocoa-to-Go‘ recipe ~ makes enough to get you thru Winter (5 1/2 Cups) ~ store it in your favorite glass jar ~easy for scooping!

Cocoa-To-Go

Ingredients

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup cocoa (your favorite brand)
  • 2 1/2 cups powdered milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • Hot water or Milk
  • add Homemade Marshmallows, if desired

Directions

  1. Sift all dry ingredients in a mixing bowl to incorporate evenly and store in an airtight container until ready to use.  When ready just fill up your favorite mug with warm water or milk, and add 2 heaping tablespoons of cocoa mix, add sweet homemade marshmallows, stir and enjoy!

Stay warm this winter ~ enjoy a cup of cocoa, pick up a brush and enjoy creating ‘Cocoa To Go’ thru the ToleTown Community!

Enjoy!
