At the first sign of Autumn I’m ready for a delicious Casserole in the CrockPot, how ’bout you?
…not to mention curling up on the sofa with a good book and a crochet afghan.
but anyway.
Our first CrockPot meal of the season was Scalloped Potatoes and Ham (with some extra fixin’s) which was somewhat following a Paula Deen Recipe ~ making a few tweaks for our tastebuds.
Enjoy this traditional Recipe with all the extra fixin’s

Method
- Prepare butter and onions in a pan over medium heat until tender. Then whisk in flour for 2 more minutes. Then gradually add milk, cream and seasonings, whisking often until mixture is thick, about 10 minutes.
- In Crockpot, layer potatoes, then veggies, then ham, then cheeses, then sauce, repeating layers until full. Then cover and cook on low until tender about 10 hours.
- Oh so delicious. Enjoy!
