We had extra Texas Toast in the freezer that I didn’t want to go to waste since enjoying our last Stackable meal from Paula Deen (Shep Pie Stack here). I didn’t have to go far to find a completely different recipe (and flavors) using the same Texas Toast….it was in the same magazine.
This recipe is for a ‘Barbecue Burger Stack‘ and can be found in Paula Deen’s 2017 Ground Beef Favorites Magazine.

This ‘Stack’ consists of a layer of Texas Toast, a Burger, BBQ Sauce, Coleslaw and Onion Rings.
Simply delicious!…. you really need to try it for yourself ~ all the flavors ‘play’ well together.
I made my own Burger recipe, BBQ Sauce, Cole Slaw and Onion Rings.
but… in a pinch or if you’re short on time…I am sure it will be just as tasty out of the bag, bottle and box.
Maybe next time I will even try to make my own Texas Toast ….then I can truly say it was all homemade.

Enjoy this Stackable recipe (below)….with all the homemade fixings. Click on the links within the recipe to find our favorite bbq sauce, along with a Pinterest link to our favorite baked onion rings.
You will find the Coleslaw Recipe within our Daily Dose 2026 Tab (found here).

Ingredients
Method
- mix ground sirloin, worcestershire sauce, grated onion and salt and pepper to taste. Form into 4 to 6 patties. Bake or Fry Burgers. (my preference is to Bake at 350 for 1/2 hour or so).
- make Texas Toast as per box instructions.
- prepare coleslaw. Find my favorite here on the Daily Dose. https://classicamyjoanne.com/daily-dose-2026/
- prepare bbq sauce. I enjoy our homemade bbq sauce found here. https://classicamyjoanne.com/2023/07/04/homemade-bbq-sauce-a-sloppy-joe-bbq-sandwich/
- prepare onion rings. We enjoy this baked version. https://littleblackskillet.com/oven-baked-onion-rings/?utm_source=Pinterest&utm_medium=organic
- assemble your 'stack', Texas Toast, then your Burger, then BBQ Sauce, then Coleslaw, then the Onion Ring. Serve and Enjoy!

Such a delicious flavor combo with a fun assembly.
Enjoy it with an extra side of coleslaw and onion rings.
Creatively Yours, Amy.
