This is My Studio Office…Classic Amy Joanne Headquarters….good grief Charlie Brown!

Absolute  Out-of-Control-Chaos, wish it wasn’t so…..

The room has good bones…

My Studio and Studio Office are located  in the upstairs of our cape cod brick home.  It was 2 bedrooms and a bath and now my Studio and Studio Office. It needs a little, lets just say ‘freshening up’…….  It has become a drop and go ~ as my class schedule picked up, designing became constant and projects had deadlines, and just general ‘keeping’ up with the biz………that’s a good thing right?  It means my business is growing!

But I don’t want to live/work like this….I imagine my studio and office being this perfectly organized and beautifully designed, fully functioning decorated space.

I  want it to be functional yet reflect my personal style.  Adding some repurposed vintage items without looking old….paint always works for that (insert wink)!

Before I can make anything pretty though, I need to organize….and clean YIKES.  And I need to break it down into manage-able pieces……

The Plan

gotta start somewhere…….the wall files.  They actually do each have a purpose and I purchased those black labels about a year ago to make-em’ pretty and co-hesive and labeled!  I also would like to add black file folders to co-ordinate.  Can you see where this is going?….Classic Chalk Art.

And the vintage bench….it has a flat surface, which means it became a catch-all.  My purpose was to have a place for current class supplies ….a gather, grab and go !  ….another great starting place….

Do you see the garden planter under the window?  This holds my current patterns perfectly….I will be painting and adding castor wheels…..a half hour project, right?

The curtains were just hung…but needs the blue gingham trim added….ok, maybe an hour or two on this project.  White curtains and white walls keep it clean and bright.

I also have a new light for over the ‘desk’….by day I work for a Lighting Company so this was a no brainer, it has been in the box for a while…..waiting for me to paint it!  It even has small crystals to hang from the bottom! How cool is that!

The furniture colors I have chosen for the room are ‘Navy Blue’ and ‘In a Pickle’ by Sweet Pickin’s.

The 1970’s bedroom desk given to me by my husband’s friend (it was his) ~ only needs Dark Wax to complete it….’oh’…. and a little cleaning.

The drysink, planter, light, shutter and chair will be painted ‘in a pickle’…a fun bright vintage picnic basket color green!  I think with the Navy pieces, the vintage pieces and antique linens this will look pretty, bright and inspiring!

See that black space in the ‘cove’….that is Painted in Chalkboard Paint…waiting for an awesome Classic Chalk Art design.

You see, if I break it down into small projects I can accomplish this right?

Wish me luck…..I will be sharing the process and pretty finish photos!

What does your creative space look like?  Is it functional and pretty?

This post comes with a viewers warning: images may not be suitable for all audiences, may contain disturbing un-organized chaos!

Classic color combination, I love it. I am currently watching, hunting and waiting for some perfect pieces at yard sales. I want so badly to have pretty, organized and functional.
