All Things Art & Home

Waiting, Happening, Waiting, Happening ~ pretty much sums up July.

Still trying to get the ‘pre-Covid’ feeling back into life….anyone else?

Studio Happenings

I could just snuggle into this corner of the Studio….wool socks, lazy sweatshirt and a mug of cocoa, ready to sew anything from curtains to Christmas stockings!

We have been working the Studio space one wall, one corner and one project at a time…..~ waiting on wainscoting for the next project.

yes, waiting.

New Product

Sometimes you hit it lucky….

This is not really a ‘new product’ for Classic Amy Joanne ‘the biz’, but something I spotted at Dollar General, ya never know, right?

The sweetest jars!

They have the look and feel of ‘all things cottage’ with ironstone ‘like’ lids and a perfect blue design.

… just love a good inexpensive find.

‘New Products’ coming to Classic Amy Joanne ~ new candle scents, ‘cottage life’ journaling, match stick holders, door knob gifts, tart warmers ~ and so much more!

Reading

Does organizing magazines count as reading?

We’ve made a magazine library in our walk-in closet ~ which worked out perfect ~ to fill my purse or travel bag or grab one for the sofa basket with anything that interested me at the time.

My favorite magazine reads are ~ Country Home, Where Women Create, Country Living, Better Homes and Gardens…..along with saved older magazines such as Home Companion and Cottage Living….been saving them for years.

I also seek out older magazines at book fairs and used book stores ~ always looking for ‘Classic’ or ‘Timeless’ inspiration.

Recipes

Food has become a regular post on this Blog. The hubby knows that when dinner is ready…..give me 5 minutes to photograph.

I choose the ‘good’ china, he gets the plastic ‘blue plate special’ (as he calls it) ~ we meet up on our snack tables ~ (read here).

Pretzel Crusted Chicken and a Shepherds Pie Stack are coming soon!

Home Projects

Still Waiting.

Waiting on a new window installation, waiting on mulch to finish the gardens, waiting on trees to add a little privacy, waiting on fencing to replace a wooden fence, and waiting on sand to finish the ‘fire pit’ area.

Waiting…..but our Zinnia’s are peeking thru!

Second Season from gifted Seeds. They are so beautiful….I told the Gardner (aka the hubby) that next year we should plant them in a couple of more places….I would like to be known as the ‘Zinnia Lady’, lol.

I used to save the whole magazine but they started to get cluttered. So, I take the magazine apart and save only what interests me…recipes, home decor, crafts, etc. Then I put them in sheet protectors in a binder. You can even use separate binders for each category. No more clutter!

    1. sounds like a perfect organizing project for the Winter months! …after 30+ years of organizing one would think I would be done :).
