What I love about creating for ToleTown (found here) (a membership painting group) is it stretches my already over-active imagination!
You see, Lorrie of ToleTown provides a topic for each month of the year ~ and then Decorative Art Designers create Art, Patterns and Video Lessons for each month and each topic for our Members to create!
Now it is not a stretch to say I have tons of ideas for Halloween and Christmas….but Summer, well, I just don’t have it in me….it stretches my imagination to create anything for Summertime Fun…..and one of my months for ToleTown is July! uh,oh.
The ‘topic’ for our July Project is ‘Popsicle Delight‘ ~ oh my, what am I to do?
Welp, I have a popsicle mold (found here) and a few recipes….let’s see what can be artfully create along side this tasty treat!
A Root Beer Float ‘Popsicle’ came to mind ~ an all American favorite.
Add in a cute little mousie, some red, white and blue and we have a Summertime ‘Popsicle Delight‘ Fun Painted Tray (surface here).
Alongside creating this fun design in acrylics (found here thru Toletown) you can also find an extra pattern included to personalize your popsicle sticks with popsicle shaped hang tags….how fun!
To serve it up simply hand stamp the end of a popsicle stick to personalize (before placing into the mold) ~ and then wrap each homemade popsicle into a glassine bag (found here) to catch all the drips! …and then tie it up with bakers twine, of course!
or serve each popsicle in a kraft-box dish (found thru Hobby Lobby), add a piece of parchment paper and a straw for slurping-up any extras!
Adding a cherry to the box would be extra sweet too!

Adding cabinet handles to your hand painted serving tray (wood plaque thru Sheila Landry of Tole Painting Designs) would be a fun idea to serve (tray found here)
Serving your ‘Root Beer Float Popsicles‘ in style!

Enjoy this all American favorite treat ~ ‘two-ingredient’ recipe below.

Root Beer Float Popsicles
Equipment
- Popsicle Sticks
- Popsicle Mold
Ingredients
- Vanilla Ice Cream
- Root Beer Soda
Instructions
- place a small scoop of vanilla ice cream into each mold, then fill the remaining portion of the mold(s) with root beer, leaving a little space at the top of mold. Insert sticks. Place in freezer until firm.
Found my unused popsicle trays in the back of the cabinet…wondering how to use them. And, here is the recipe! Will use diet root beer to decrease the carb count.
Enjoy Judy!
What a fun idea! Root beer floats are SO good! The popsicles remind me of my Mom. When we were kids, she made popsicles with pudding. I need to try these root beer float ones! And the design is so adorable! Perfect tray to use at a summer party!
Thank you! even though it is a simple recipe…it is so delicious! Enjoy!
So CUTE!
thank you Deb! 🙂
