The beautiful part of learning and creating Decorative Art is to make gifts for your friends and family. Handmade has always been dear to my heart but when a gift is handmade and personalized ~ well, that’s just the icing on the cake!

Most recently a co-worker (…and friend) at the Bakery where I work was leaving to Graduate from College, pursue her Career in Teaching and is getting Married this summer ~ Creating a gift for her that would become a treasured keepsake was on my heart….from my heart to hers.

Everyone loves a Christmas Tree Ornament~ so a ‘First Christmas’ ornament would make a perfect gift for her first ‘married’ Christmas. Of course using my go-to wood ornament source, Sheila Landry. You can find this scalloped-round ornament (here).

Then I got to work, drawing out the idea. Using (this) pattern as the base ~ then added in a few fun details to personalize the ornament, such as a Wedding Cake with bells and a tag with her daughters name. On the back of the ornament adding ‘First Christmas for the Mr and Mrs 2025‘ ~ and of course the cookies represent the Bakery, with Mousie.

Then to wrap-it-up, adding a velvet ribbon, then tucking it into a coordinating canvas gift bag.

The canvas gift bag was created by photographing the painting, then scanning the image onto an iron-on transfer paper and then applying it to the canvas gift bag. Similar to the Shopping Bags created (here).

Notice how the baker’s twine was added to the gift wrapping….to match the ‘signature’ baker’s twine found in each of my paintings.

…making a sweet ‘personalized’ gift from my heart to hers.

yet another fun ‘Cottage Classic Giftable‘ idea! (or even a Door Knob Gift).

You can find other ‘giftable’ ideas by searching ‘Cottage Classic Giftables’ (here) thru the Blog Tab.

Enjoy a few images below (with how-to’s found on this Blog for each) of other ideas for Personalized Gifts.

Creatively Personalized by You makes for a perfect handmade and heartfelt gift.

Creatively Yours, Amy.
