If God Blesses you with a Gift of Creativity use it for Joyful Giving, Serving, Encouraging, Teaching and Sharing, and it will be pleasing to God.
ROMANS 12:6-8
“We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man’s gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve…teaching, let him teach…encouraging, let him encourage…contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously…leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.”

Creating painted Keepsake Boxes and Christmas Ornaments are two ways I like to create personalized gifts for giving.

…hand painted Keepsake Boxes are certainly at the top of the list to Welcome a New Baby and adding a coordinated ‘1st Christmas Ornament’ is a fun addition by simply adding a few Christmas touches such as snow, candy canes, holly, or the like onto the ornament. (above and below images).

Painting Christmas Ornaments are a nice gift for any occasion ~ the ornament can ‘tell a story’ or ‘remember a moment’. And each passing year when the ornament is placed on the tree it is a simple reminder ……and Who doesn’t love an ornament?!
The best part of creating a personalized gift is to include things that are only meaningful to the person receiving the gift…and to the person giving too.

For instance ~ the ornament above was a gift created for a fellow co-worker at the Bakery. She was leaving to graduate from college, start a new career and get married! This ornament will only have meaning to her ~ Santa is holding a Wedding Cake for her Wedding, a tag with her Daughter’s name, and Baked Goods to remember the Bakery. Making it a nice keepsake for 2025. (read about here).

The ornament above was also made for another Bakery co-worker leaving for the Military. What better way than to include Baked Goods for our Bakery connection, a Flag for her Military Service, and a small bell to remember her Vow to her Fiance.
With each ornament I like to add a message or story to the backside, making it even more personal.

Each passing year I gift my niece, Abby, a Christmas Ornament for her tree ~ and each year the ornament is created with memories from that year.

In 2023 Abby enjoyed sharing her magic tricks she learned in school.

In 2024 Abby enjoyed ‘Disney on Ice’ for the first time ~ she just loves the Disney Princesses ~ so I created a Princess Elfie sitting in a Skate….with all kinds of glitter fit for a Princess.

And last year, 2025, Abby enjoyed miniature golf (which she takes very seriously), the Muppets and a trip to Disney in Florida.

Whether your ‘gifting’ is to sew, knit, make greeting cards, paint, bake or the like ~ you have a gift to share in a personal way.
Do you have a special way to personalize a handmade gift?
Creatively Yours, Amy.
