Create Art & Curate Your Home

As with all things ‘Classic Amy Joanne‘, one design turns into many ideas, using different surfaces or even making ‘Cottage Classic Giftables‘ with sweets and treats ~ adding in a whole-lotta homespun charm. Is there any other way?

The original idea for this vintage thermos design was created for one of our pages in the ‘My Cottage Life Keepsake Journal‘, read more about our Journal (here).

This journal is simply for the everyday life ~ a place to tuck in a favorite recipe, a bible verse, or family photos and a keepsake for sure.

Of course this pattern can be created onto almost any surface. (created in DecoArt Acrylics & Prismacolor Premier Pencils). Try it onto watercolor paper attached to any wood surface (read how-to here), making it useful and giftable too!

After creating this design onto a page in our Keepsake Journal (…and mini journal too), I then added an ornament to the collection (found here thru Sheila Landry) as a ‘cookie tray‘ or a ‘mug trivet‘ and then added the design to our popular ‘baby bundt box‘ (found here) too~ a perfect box for gift giving!

Here are a few fun opportunities to create ‘Cottage Cocoa‘ ~ thru your Journal or any surface.

Create ‘ Cottage Cocoa‘ with us on October 26, 2023 thru our ‘Zoom Gatherings‘ here at Classic Amy Joanne ~ learn more (here).

Or simply enjoy creating this design on your own thru our instructional pattern offered (here).

The pattern also includes a Vintage Thermos Christmas Design…always a little something extra from my heart.

The ‘Cottage Cocoa’ Baby Bundt Box would make a perfect gift this Christmas season ~ wrap it up with your favorite Homemade Cookies, a Mug and Marshmallow Sauce to drizzle into a mug of Cocoa!

Marshmallow Sauce will sweeten any Cocoa, find the recipe below and then be sure to include it with your Cottage Cocoa gift.

Marshmallow Sauce

Ingredients

  • 6 jumbo marshmallows
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  • Melt Marshmallows over an open flame, or broil in the oven until golden brown.
  • Combine Sugar and 1 Cup of Water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and simmer over medium heat until the Sugar is disolved.
  • Reduce the heat to low and add the Toasted Marshmallows. Cook and Stir continuously until it bubbles along the edges and Marshamallows are completely disovled.
  • Strain the mixture thru a fine-mesh strainer and whisk in Vanilla and Salt.
  • Cool Completely. Store in air-tight container in refrigerator for up to 1 month.

Or maybe you’re looking for a Santa Exchange Gift?

Why not stack a few homemade cookies or add a favorite mug of cocoa to a scalloped round ornament and then tie it up with string!

A perfect handmade and homemade gift, sure to melt any heart.

How ever you create ‘Cottage Cocoa‘, surely it will make the perfect gift! ……or journal entry.

Thank You for making this Blog one of your creative stops….we hope to encourage and inspire Creativity ~ from my heart and hands to yours.

enJOY!
